How we build, test and maintain our tools

Who is behind ConvertForever

ConvertForever is built and maintained by our in-house team and operated by Bohzo Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. We build web tools full time; this site is not a hobby project or a reselling of someone else's software. Every tool here was designed, coded and tested by us.

We are contactable. If anything on the site is wrong, unclear or broken, you can reach a real person at hello@convertforever.com or through the form on our contact page, and we act on what we hear.

How each tool is built

Every file tool on ConvertForever runs entirely in your browser using established, open web technologies, for example pdf-lib and PDF.js for PDF work, the browser's own canvas engine for images, and the Web Crypto API for secure random values. Nothing you load is sent to a server, because there is no server-side processing step to send it to.

We choose the approach that gives a correct result on a normal device, then we keep the interface deliberately simple: drop a file or type a value, get the result, download it. We would rather ship a tool that does one job reliably than a cluttered page that does many jobs poorly.

How we test for accuracy

Calculators are checked against known correct answers before release. Financial tools use the standard published formulas (for example, the amortization formula for loan and mortgage payments); health tools use recognised equations (Mifflin-St Jeor for calories and BMR, the US Navy method for body-fat estimates), and we name the method on the page so you can verify it.

Converters are tested with real files across the browsers most people use. When we say a tool works, it means we have run it end to end and confirmed the output, not just that the code compiles.

We tell you the limitations

No tool is perfect, and pretending otherwise wastes your time. Where a tool involves a genuine trade-off, we state it plainly on that tool's page: PDF compression rasterizes text so it is no longer selectable; Word-to-PDF and PDF-to-Word simplify complex layouts; OCR needs a reasonably clear image; browser text-to-speech cannot save an audio file. You should know exactly what you will get before you download.

Health and finance tools are educational and clearly labelled as estimates, not professional advice. We include the appropriate caveats and, where relevant, suggest confirming important decisions with a qualified professional.

How we protect your privacy

Because our file tools run on your device, your documents and images are never uploaded to us. This is not a promise you have to take on trust; it is a property of how the tools are engineered, and it is the same in all 12 languages we support. Where a tool needs a one-time download of a component (for example the language data for OCR, or the AI model for background removal), we say so on the page, and even then your actual file stays on your device.

Our full data practices, including the cookies and advertising that keep the tools free, are set out in our Privacy Policy.

How we keep tools up to date

We review tools and their help content periodically and after any browser change that could affect them. When we fix a bug or improve a result, the change goes live for everyone at once, in every language. If you find something that has drifted out of date, telling us is the fastest way to get it corrected.

Corrections and suggestions from people who use the tools genuinely shape what we build and fix next. That feedback loop is part of how we keep quality high.
