Online Tests & Checks

Measure yourself and check your hardware, all free in your browser.

These free online tests split into two useful halves. The measure-yourself half: a typing test that scores your WPM and accuracy, a CPS test for clicks per second, a reaction time test against the ~250ms human average, and a spacebar counter for the challenge crowd. The check-your-hardware half: a keyboard tester where every key lights up as you press it, ideal after a spill, plus a mic test and webcam test so you know your audio and video work before the Zoom or Teams call, not during it.

Everything runs in your browser with nothing to install and no account. The hardware checks are private by design: the mic and webcam tests show you a live meter and preview but record and transmit nothing, and the keyboard tester only reads the same key events any page sees. Retake the skill tests as often as you like; your average tells the real story.

Frequently asked questions

Are these tests free?

Yes, all of them, with unlimited attempts and no sign-up. Test your typing daily or check your mic before every meeting at no cost.

Do the mic and webcam tests record me?

No. Both run entirely in your browser: the audio drives a volume meter and the video renders a local preview, and neither is captured, stored or sent anywhere. Access ends when you close the page.

Why does my browser ask for microphone or camera permission?

Browsers require your explicit consent before any page can use a mic or camera; that prompt is a standard safeguard. The tests need permission only to show your own live levels and picture.

Do the tests work on phones?

Yes, they all run in mobile browsers. Skill scores differ by device though: typing WPM drops on touch keyboards and tap speed differs from mouse clicking, so compare like with like. The keyboard tester naturally needs a physical keyboard.

What counts as a good score?

Typing: ~40 WPM is average, 60-80 is good. Clicking: 4-7 CPS is normal. Reaction: around 250ms is average, under 200ms is quick. Each test page breaks its ratings down in detail.
